Shel Silverstein

If you are a dreamer, come in

If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,

a hope-er a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...

If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire

For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.

Come in! Come in!

Dreaming is cool--until you wake up.

Once upon a time there was a little girl and she had a dream, her dream you are now quite aware of, but just in case your forgot, her dream is to become a published author.
Well who doesn't?

Now just remember, this little girl was very little, and her family (well most of it) claimed that she defiantly had a potential where writing was involved. (Side note; I hate the word potential, it just drags you right down with the not yet accomplished) The girls mother insisted that the little girl study grammar and the elements of writing. However the girl thinking she was pre-gifted with the art of writing, refused to do any such thing...

...of course until the day she did.
And this my friend is how I found myself four years later on one Tuesday in April pouring over writing tips on the internet; till my eyes bugged out my head. Well not really but it felt like that, I was starting to get a computer headache and the demeaning feeling that I really didn't know much about the art of writing.

There is one thing to know, it is very useful if you learn it early on 'with great dreams comes a whole lot of work'.
You've got to work your little butt off to get what you want, so with that in mind you need to make sure that what you want is what you need.
I need to be a writer! For one reason or another I'm positively dead inside with out some form of storytelling.

So I guess that means I have a lot of research to do *sigh* I elect that life have an easy button!. Lol :D
The good news is that I'm half way to my dream...hopefully.

So whats been happening on your side of the universe?

  1. I've just come here from the Blog Hop.

I've also just started getting actually doing something about the long-held ambition of writing. There's so much contrary advice about writing (one successful author says ALWAYS DO *EXAMPLE*. The next one says NEVER DO *EXAMPLE.

The one bit that really sticks, though, is to work as hard as you can. That's my plan :)

    Good luck!
